When did Raphael Holinshed write his chronicles?

Raphael Holinshed’s Chronicles of England, Scotland, and Ireland appeared in 1577.

This history was Shakespeare’s source for much of Macbeth, King Lear, and Cymbeline. Holinshed died about 1580.
